(1) The vertical roller mill grinding system has relatively few equipment and relatively simple process flow. The core equipment, namely the vertical roller mill itself, integrates drying, grinding and powder selection. There is less external circulation of materials, less power consumption for material transportation, and large air volume for the system, which is very suitable for the grinding of high wet and viscous materials. Such as wet discharged fly ash, clay, etc.

 

(2) The vertical grinding mill process adopts the material bed grinding mill equipment, which can greatly reduce the power consumption of the system. Compared with the ball milling process, it has the advantages of high grinding efficiency, low energy consumption and simple system.

 

At present, vertical roller mill has been widely used in slag grinding process. Because the particle size composition of water quenched steel slag is similar to that of slag, vertical roller mill is also a good choice for steel slag grinding. However, due to the high iron content of steel slag and poor grindability, the requirement of product particle size is high. Therefore, when grinding with vertical roller mill, the wear is large, and the particles with high iron content are easy to accumulate at the grinding disc, which can not be eliminated in time, so it is difficult to form a stable material layer. In order to stabilize the thickness of the material layer of the grinding disc of the vertical roller mill and avoid large vibration, measures are often taken to reduce the feeding amount or lift the rod to discharge the material. In this way, the vertical roller mill is difficult to operate continuously and stably, which greatly affects the output and stability of steel slag grinding.

 

At present, a very small number of vertical roller mills in China are used for dry grinding steel slag, with poor stability. The application effect of imported vertical roller mills introduced by some steel mills is also more general.
